Southeast Michigan tallied another business winner from “The Biggest Loser” after Ann Arbor-based NuStep Inc. closed a sale for more than $11,000 in exercise equipment that had appeared on the NBC program.
NuStep, which manufacturers cross trainer exercise equipment, completed a sale for two of its T5XR machines to Ivins, Utah-based The Biggest Loser Resort at Fitness Ridge after its machines were featured on the reality show. The machines have higher weight capacities than conventional machines. Following the Biggest Loser deal, NuStep Marketing Coordinator Jane Benskey said the Utah ranch called and has since agreed to purchase two units. The machine, which retails at $5,595, has a 600-pound weight capacity and a low step-through design.
