The Rollback feature has received enhancements in SOLIDWORKS PDM 2017. Users with Rollback folder permissions can now roll back a parent file with its child references and files indicated as sub-parents (e.g. drawing files or manually created references) to a previous as-built state.
In previous releases of SOLIDWORKS PDM users could not roll back a file with all references and any parent references newer than the selected Rollback Point were removed. This enhanced functionality allows a user to roll back a child reference and redirect the parent references to use a specific Rollback Point.
To roll back a file structure:
From the History dialog box, select the Event to rollback and select the Rollback button.
From the Rollback dialog box, you can select other references to roll back and select a specific Rollback Point.
When you select a file for rollback, SOLIDWORKS PDM sets the Rollback Point to the highest valid event in the target version.
SOLIDWORKS PDM attempts to match child files to Revisions, Transitions, or Checked in events from the parent file which had been selected for rollback.
Note: If a parent file has an internal component, it gets selected or cleared for rollback with its parent file. You cannot select or clear the internal component explicitly.
Selecting Yes for Redirect parent references of the file to be rolled back will redirect the parent files to use the rolled back version of the file instead of deleting the reference. This is the default selection.
Selecting No will delete the parent references of the rolled back versions.
After selecting Continue, a list of the files for which the references are redirected or deleted appears. Click Rollback to confirm the operation.
