DASI Graduates 10 Pre-Apprenticeship Participants

Written by: Laura Cominotto, Marketing Manager

DASI is proud to announce that we will be graduating our first ever cohort of 10 students from the DASI Solutions Pre-Apprenticeship Program on Thursday, August 24!

In conjunction with Focus:HOPE in Detroit, we put together this program to help workers who are unemployed or under-employed to get the skills they need in order to land decent jobs. The program runs for six weeks at the Focus:HOPE facility in Detroit, teaching the participants a wide range of skills including OSHA training, math, customer service, CAD training and much more.

In addition to 180 hours of classroom time, all participants will be graduating the program with four certifications to help build their resumes:

  • Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate (CSWA)
  • OSHA Hazardous Situation Recognition certificate
  • National Institute of Metalworking Skills certificate
  • Customer Service certification

The Pre-Apprenticeship program serves as almost a job skills boot camp, creating highly skilled, hardworking individuals ready to join the workforce and start a career.

The graduation ceremony for this first cohort will be held on Thursday, August 24th at 11:00 AM at Focus:HOPE. The following day, DASI is inviting (and encouraging!) our local customers to come in and interview these candidates for full-time jobs. If you are looking to add an extra engineer with SOLIDWORKS experience (and a CSWA certification!), you don’t want to miss this opportunity! Be sure to contact Annette Norris (email or call 248-410-9896) for more details on participating.

We begin recruiting our next cohort in October! Be sure to let us know if you think you might have someone who could benefit from a work skills boot camp.
