New in SOLIDWORKS Plastics 2019 is the ability to add boundary conditions such as injection locations, mold wall temperature conditions, and control valve conditions that are based on the actual CAD geometry of the part file. These conditions can be applied prior to and independent of creating a mesh in SOLIDWORKS Plastics, and can be applied to individual faces, planes, and points from the model geometry.
You will still have access to the original mesh based boundary conditions as you had in prior releases for injection locations, mold wall temperatures, and control valve conditions after you have completed a solid or shell mesh. These options have been moved from the original mesh based boundary conditions folder to reside next to the new geometry based boundary conditions in the Boundary Conditions (Geometry Based) folder. See the below screenshot.
SOLIDWORKS Plastics 2019 will embed and save any geometry based boundary conditions created directly in the SOLIDWORKS *.SLDPRT part. Mesh based boundary conditions and all other prior conditions will remain saved in the SOLIDWORKS Plastics results directory as in previous releases.
