Employee Spotlight: Julie Reid

Julie Reid - California Sales Manager

What is your role at DASI?

I am the California Solutions Manager. We have offices in San Diego, Fresno and Sacramento.

How long have you been working at DASI?

I started at Digital Dimensions, now DASI Solutions, as an Account Manager over 5 years ago. About 2 years into my role, I was presented an amazing opportunity and took it, allowing me to move back to my home state and enjoy the beautiful weather of San Diego to take over the Sales Manager job.

What do you enjoy most about working at DASI?

I enjoy the people I work with. I couldn’t ask for a better Sales Team to manage. I also really enjoy learning about our customers. It still amazes me to see what our customer are creating, whether it be a medical device that will drastically improve one’s life or a customer product we use on a daily basis.

Real Life

Where were you born?

I was born in Sacramento, California.

Tell us a little about your life outside of work.

Spending time with my family. I have three boys that enjoy sports. Our weekends consist of basketball, baseball and football games. I also love to read and run. My goal this year is to run a race each month. I just completed a 15k in January.

Julie Reid Family

What is the best vacation you have ever gone on?

Vacationing with my family in Maui. Having all boys, we have to keep them busy. We were able to enjoy an awesome helicopter ride, parasailing and did a ton of snorkeling where we saw many sea turtles up close.

What is your favorite SOLIDWORKS product?

Because I am a mom and am still recovering from Christmas, I think SOLIDWORKS Composer would be my favorite SW product. I wish more companies would use a product like SW Composer to repurpose their CAD data.

It was quite frustrating on Christmas Eve when we tried to build a drum set and there were so many words and not many pictures in the instructions. It took a ton of unnecessary time that could have been alleviated if they had used a product like Composer. But on the other side, we appreciated and were able to breeze through the assembly when we opened a box and were able to clearly understand the instructions and build a basketball hoop for my boys Christmas morning.
